Fox Pest Control
Termite Defense Plan

Termites, whether drywood or subterranean, can live on your property or in your home without being noticed for months or even years, causing serious damage before being found. Early detection of termite infestation is essential to reducing potentially costly damage to your home.

Sentricon Installation

It’s a termite control plan designed to eliminate termite colonies and protect your home from future invasions.

For most of us, our home is the largest purchase of our life and our most valuable asset. Unfortunately, they are often built from wood, the primary food source for one of nature’s greatest foragers — termites. And because these foragers are experts at staying out of sight, we rarely see them coming until it’s too late.

Using the Sentricon® System with Always Active™ Technology, your Fox Pest Control technician will install bait stations around your home to attack the entire colony and help protect the structure of your home.

Once the bait stations are installed around the exterior of your home, they work to kill termites around the clock. A Fox technician comes back yearly to check the stations and replace bait as needed.

A technician will inspect for termites, address concerns, and provide a customized treatment for the property’s optimal effectiveness.

Once the bait stations are installed around the home, they work to kill termites full-time, 24/7! So even though a Fox technician comes back yearly to check the stations and replace bait as needed, Fox is always treating termites.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the Termite Defense Plan cost?

The cost of the Termite Defense Plan is determined by the size of your house and property, as well as the severity of your infestation. An assessment will determine the customized needs and the exact cost. Current Fox customers can get discounts for participating in multiple pest control plans.

There is a basic cost to have the Sentricon® system installed and then an ongoing service fee to maintain the protection. The cost may vary depending upon the service program you and your Certified Sentricon Specialist™ agree to. Once installed, it costs about a dollar a day to keep Sentricon protection in place.

Will every house qualify for a Fox termite treatment?

No. When the Termite Technician arrives at the customer’s home, a comprehensive inspection of the interior, exterior, and crawl space must be completed. Qualification is based on the inspection. If conditions impede the inspection, such as certain uses of stucco, foam insulation, or blocked crawl spaces, the treatment cannot be offered. Ask our professionals for a comprehensive list of exclusions.

Does the customer need to be home when Fox comes for termite treatment?

Yes. The initial installation and the annual reinspection can only be completed if the customer is home to allow access to interior areas that need to be inspected. At the time of the initial installation, a Fox representative must also review all paperwork with the customer and attain signatures.

However, if a bait check is all that is needed after the initial installation, the customer does not need to be present if the technician has access to the property.

Can termites live in a colder climate?

Termites are found in every state in the U.S. except Alaska, but they are more prevalent in warmer, more humid climates.

How often are the bait stations on my property checked and managed?

Label directions for Always Active™ technology allow your Certified Sentricon Specialist™ to perform service once per year, though some will come more often. This flexibility allows a service schedule that meets the needs of your property and provides you with maximum convenience.

What makes the Sentricon® system my best option?

Liquid treatments are antiquated efforts to keep termites away and can be very disruptive to your property and lifestyle. But the Sentricon® system is an entire system based on the science of natural termite behavior. The award-winning, patented technology in Sentricon uses the termites themselves to destroy their entire colony and kill the queen.

Is it ok for my kids and pets to play near the bait stations?

Yes. The stations are placed in the ground with only a visible service cover and require a special key to open. In addition, the active ingredient used in the Sentricon® system, noviflumuron, is designed specifically to disrupt the molting process that occurs only in insects and closely related organisms, not people or pets.

Is it ok to plant a vegetable and herb garden near the bait stations?

Yes. The active ingredient in the Sentricon® system is not systemic and will not be taken up by the plants, and the potential for leaching is extremely low.

I purchased a home with an existing Sentricon® stations. What should I do?

To ensure your home continues to be maintained by the No. 1 brand in termite protection, you must reactivate the service agreement. Call Fox Pest Control today, and let’s get back to protecting your home!

Can I service Sentricon® stations myself?

No. The Sentricon® system is for professional use only and can only be sold and serviced by a Certified Sentricon® Specialist as required by law and the manufacturer. Termites are serious pests, and the extreme damage they can do to a home requires specialized training and materials. If you have a concern or question, the best thing you can do is to call your Certified Sentricon® Specialist at Fox Pest Control and ask them to come out and assess the situation.

How do termites find the Sentricon® stations?

Worker termites are constantly foraging for new food sources, even if there is an ample supply present. In fact, termites can travel as far as 100 yards from their nest as they search for new food sources. The Sentricon® system is designed so the bait stations intercept the random foraging patterns of the workers.

Does homeowners insurance cover termite damage?

Termite damage is a nightmare for any homeowner, but unfortunately, most standard homeowner’s insurance policies don’t cover it.
